On Friday 21st November, 2008, Daniel's Den of Fashion, based in Pleasantville, South Trinidad presented their fashion show at the Creative Arts Center in San Fernando. Before an enthusiastic audience, various designs were showcased by the many models. Daniel George, the man behind Daniel's Den of Fashion expressed to Triniview.com that he has been working with various designers for several years and decided that it was time to do his own show.
Crystal-Ann Lambert
Starting just after 8 p.m., the show kicked off with a dance item by Crystal-Ann Lambert who ushered in the first section which represented purity, peace, passion, fullness and energy. White flowing dresses and other elegant male and female formal wear were featured in this section. The second section represented power, strength, seduction and beauty and the colour theme was black. Special mention should be made of the models, who conducted themselves in a very professional manner, changing over quickly and going through their choreographed routines very smoothly.
Calypsonian Joanne Foster
Calypsonian Joanne Foster lit up the stage with a powerful earthshaking rendition of David Rudder's classic "Calypso Rising": "Calypso rising out of the barrack yards and ghettos...for when I hear it, it moves me so." She later returned to render her 2008 song "No Mountain too High" to rapturous applause from the audience. The performances continued with a well-executed African song by Petra Abraham, accompanied by Jahvin Neptune on the djembe drum.
Models
The third section represented creativity, life and its sensuality and featured a variety of bright and colourful designs that were brought to life by the models, much to the appreciation of the audience.

There were elaborate headwraps, brightly coloured dresses, black and white dashikis with matching headwear and flowing African robes fit for a king, all modeled to the mellow strains of West African music. Following this section, songstress Nikeisha Gabriel delivered a sterling tribute to the late South African Songstress Miriam Makeba as she gave a pore-raising rendition of Makeba's classics "Nomeva" and "The Click Song".
Local artiste Gittar Dan heated up the audience with his impressive vocal styles as he delivered several of his own compositions, mixing these with freestyle verses. With the unique ability of seamlessly changing his voice, Gittar Dan drew loud cheers and applause from the audience, who were so appreciative of his immense talent that they brought him back on stage for an encore performance.

The final section was the formal section which represented pure elegance and beauty with a touch of class. This section, like all the previous ones was a big hit with the audience as they cheered, whistled and applauded loudly as the models paraded on the runway. As this show wound to the end, John Loney came to the stage and delivered an impressive rendition of "This is the Moment" to the delight of the audience. The designer, Daniel George, then came to the stage to acknowledge the applause from the audience and he proceeded to pay tribute to his mother, Mrs. George, for her contributions.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the designs, the modeling and the performances throughout the evening and the organizers certainly deserve kudos for their effort.
