I left the PNM and joined the Tapia House movement. In 1976 I knew that Tapia could not win the General elections but I voted for the most pricipled position enunciated in all the manifestos. The theme "After ole mas is new politics" did not resonate with the public but if one were to look back now, one could see we are still in "ole mas" mode. Then I loved the big maco senate Tapia was advocating and I still do now. As a village social worker in the then Carenage Village council and youth groups, I saw a need to have a voice. Not since the days of Wilton Hinds and the "pommecythe" Senator...Lorna Goodridge, was Trinidad and Tobago graced with a Youth voice. Be at peace Llyod Best, you were the best by test.
