View CommentsrogantfarI'm greatly amused by herbieg's comment. The 'Suspension' Bridge IS a Hanging Bridge observed in this Beautiful photo, so the local Blanchisseuse residents are correct in naming this Awesome structure. Posted by Guest on Mon 21 Mar 2005 04:59:56 PM UTC Teacher Linda in ConnecticutWhat is the difference between 'hanging from the ceiling' and 'suspended from the ceiling'? Posted by Guest on Tue 22 Mar 2005 06:41:18 PM UTC herbiegThe bridge belongs to a class of bridge designs known as suspension bridges. The bridge over the Golden Gate in Caliornia U.S.A. is one of the world's famous. For your information Teacher Linda and rogantfar, no one anywhere calls it a 'hanging bridge.' It's a suspension bridge. Posted by Guest on Thu 14 Apr 2005 03:55:12 PM UTC PatThe people of T&T have been calling it "hanging bridge" since it was erected. Celebrate diversity! We must stop the penchant in Trinidad & Tobago to improperly name things. This is a 'suspension' bridge, not a 'hanging' bridge.
