Holly Betaudier's Send Off

On Monday 6th June, 2016, friends, family and colleagues of the late Holly Betaudier, flocked to the Santa Rosa R.C. Church, Arima to pay their last respects at his funeral service. Mr. Betaudier, who was popularly known as the “Arima Kid" passed away on Sunday 29th May, 2016, at the age of ninety-one. He was one of Trinidad and Tobago's cultural and media icons, an aficionado of parang music and the founder and original host of Scouting for Talent, one of the longest running talent shows in Trinidad and Tobago. Prior to his passing, he also hosted a radio programme, Toute Bagai (an expression in Patois meaning “everything”). Holly was laid to rest at the Santa Rosa Cemetery.

Members of the congregation included the former Arima Mayor and Health Minister John Rahael, former Arima Mayor Elvin Edwards, current Mayor George Hadeed, president of the Santa Rosa First Peoples (Carib) Community Ricardo Bharath-Hernandez, and Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly.
