KidzCraft host annual Emancipation Memorial Day Celebration
The KidzCraft Cultural and Social Club hosted its annual Emancipation Memorial Day Celebration on Sunday 19th August, 2015, at Clifton Street Towers Courtyard, St. Paul Street, Port of Spain. This organization is an NGO that has been established since 2002.
Palo’s Crew Emancipation Concert
On Sunday 2nd August, 2015, Palos Crew hosted their sixth annual Emancipation Concert at Mango Rose, Picadilly Street, Port of Spain. The programme included an award presentation for children who wrote the S.E.A. examination from the community, steelpan performances by the Renegades Junior Steel Orchestra and a solo by Kern Summerville.
South Africa’s Freedom Day 2015
On Monday 27th April, 2015, the High Commission of South Africa to Trinidad and Tobago joined the rest of the world in celebrating Freedom Day in South Africa. This occasion, which took place at the Cascadia Hotel, St. Ann’s, marked the twenty-first anniversary of the country’s first elections where all persons of the voting age of eighteen years and older, regardless of race, could exercise their right to vote.
NACC 32nd Annual Emancipation Day Dinner
On Saturday 9th August, 2014 the National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) held their 32nd annual Emancipation Day Dinner at the Andre Kamperveen Hall, Centre of Excellence, in Macoya.
The Palo’s Crew Emancipation Concert: An Evening of Culture
On Saturday 2nd August, the Mango Rose, Port of Spain neighbourhood was a hub of activity for the hosting of the annual Emancipation Day Concert hosted by The Palo’s Crew. The event was billed “An Evening of Culture” and themed “To Educate is to Emancipate.” This concert seeks not only to entertain, but also serves as a platform for acknowledging and rewarding the efforts of individuals who have excelled from the community.
NJAC Special Community Emancipation Rally 2009
The National Joint Action Committee (NJAC) presented ‘A Special Community Rally’ – “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery” on Sunday 11th October, 2009, at the Transport & Industrial Workers Union (TIWU) headquarters on Eastern Main Road, Laventille. This event is one of the many events NJAC held for the year. A number of entertainers and speakers provided a solid evening of entertainment and reflection for the audience.
