We must stop the penchant in Trinidad & Tobago to improperly name things. This is a 'suspension' bridge, not a 'hanging' bridge.

I'm greatly amused by herbieg's comment. The 'Suspension' Bridge IS a Hanging Bridge observed in this Beautiful photo, so the local Blanchisseuse residents are correct in naming this Awesome structure.

What is the difference between 'hanging from the ceiling' and 'suspended from the ceiling'?

The bridge belongs to a class of bridge designs known as suspension bridges. The bridge over the Golden Gate in Caliornia U.S.A. is one of the world's famous. For your information Teacher Linda and rogantfar, no one anywhere calls it a 'hanging bridge.' It's a suspension bridge.

Pat

The people of T&T have been calling it "hanging bridge" since it was erected. Celebrate diversity! I won't say they are wrong to call the Golden Gate Bridge a "suspension bridge"(Smile)

Mike, from Canada

It is still a beautiful picture what ever type of bridge it is. I am amazed with the beauty I have been away for 35 years.

Arnold -Bermuda

I grew up knowing this as "The spring bridge".Anytime you pass over it,it bounces or "springs" up and down.
