The 2007 Eddie Hart Football League opened on Sunday 19th August, 2007, at the Eddie Hart Savannah in grand fashion, befitting the 41st anniversary of the league. Hundreds of people including former national star footballer and coach Everald "Gally" Cummings, Minister Joan Yuille-Williams and league founder Eddie Hart were on hand for the opening. To music from the Prisons and Fire Service bands, thirty five football teams participated in the march past, as the sunny afternoon endured to the relief of the spectators positioned around the ground.

Eddie Hart expressed that it was a pleasure to see so many young people, both boys and girls involved in the game. He said that the league has a good track record with over 75 percent of players from the national Soca Warriors team, who went to the World Cup 2006 in Germany, having played in the Eddie Hart League. This year he remarked that there were 70 teams registered to take part and urged the players to have respect for authority.

Joan Yuille-Williams, Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs congratulated Eddie Hart and the other founding members of the league on the work they have done with young people over the years. She declared the 41st Eddie Hart Football League officially open, to applause from spectators.

When the march past results were announced, Vandykes and Dingle Boys tied for third place while first and second place were awarded to Trincity Nationals and Stern John Chocolate City respectively. A special award was also presented to Mr. Edwin Haynes, the first ever recipient of the Eddie Hart Football League Footballer of the Year award in the year 1967.

The afternoon also featured several exhibition games. In the first game, Trincity Nationals drew nil-nil with Ballmasters, while the second game featuring 2006 women's champions Vandykes against an All Star team ended on a similar score. In the third game, the 2006 knockout champions Parliament FC edged 2006 league winners Valtrin United 1-0.

Before a crowd of hundreds of spectators, the last game featured the 1990 Strike Squad team against an Eddie Hart League representative team. It was experience against youth, skill against energy as both teams squared off against each other. Despite the Strike Squad's stringing together some good smooth passes, it was the All Star team who created several scoring chances in the opening stages of the game, but failed to convert. After a scoreless first half it was the experienced Strike Squad who scored twice to win the game 2-0.

The afternoon also featured performances by 2007 Panorama champion Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars, Couva Joylanders and Pamberi. Parents came out with their children to enjoy the fun filled afternoon, which also featured a car show in an adjacent area.
