On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October, 2015, the Nrityanjali Theatre (Institute for the Arts and Culture) in association with Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Co-operation, hosted its annual Classical Indian Ballet at Queen’s Hall, St. Ann’s, Port of Spain. The production was titled “The Divine Flute”, a classical dance drama about the story of Krishna, the divine flute player.

The programme which featured a cast of twenty-two dancers included classical music on the sitar with the ensemble, narration of the production by storyteller Sharda Maharaj and the following dance pieces: Invocation – Vedanu Dharate; Ashtapadi – Sakhi He; Padam – Choodare; Jaganmohanane Krishna; Ashtapadi – Lalita Lavanga; Raas – lila; Training of the Pandavas and Kauravas; The Game of Dice; Krishna and Duryodhana; Krishna and Arjuna; and Moksha.
